The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world's largest humanitarian organization, providing assistance without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions.
Founded in 1919, the International Federation comprises 186 member Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, a Secretariat in Geneva and more than 60 delegations strategically located to support activities around the world.
The Federation carries out relief operations to assist victims of disasters, and combines this with development work to strengthen the capacities of its member National Societies. The Federation's work focuses on four core areas: promoting humanitarian values, disaster response, disaster preparedness, and health and community care.
PURPOSE OF THE POST: Under the management of the Secretary General and the guidance of the Audit and Risk Committee, the Risk Management and Audit Department provides independent quality audit and consulting service that is designed to add value by providing management with objective assurance on the effectiveness of the Federation Secretariat's risk management framework and internal control environment, therefore assisting management with the accomplishment of their assigned responsibilities.
The Senior Field Auditor will assist the Head of Risk Management and Audit Department in supporting management to improve the Federation Secretariat's operations, and in providing a platform for learning by sharing good practices and lessons learned across the organisation. He/she works closely with all Zone's Offices, Geneva Departments and all levels of management within the Federation Secretariat, and with outside partners required. Senior Field Auditor (Kuala Lumpur - Jalan Ampang) Requirements: - Plan and perform internal audit assignments of field operation, systems and processes
- Present and discuss audit results with management making recommendations for improvements
- Provide technical support to the Zone Office management team in relation to internal controls and risk management issues
- In response to donors’ audit requirements, recommend the appointment of external audit firms, define their scope of work and develop audit terms of reference
- Evaluate risks in existing systems and procedures, and in systems being developed
- University degree or equivalent, preferably in General Business, complemented by an Internal Audit qualification (PIIA, MIIA, CIA)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Internal Auditing and Risk Management
- Good understanding of the principles and application of good corporate governance, business and operational risk management systems, and effective internal controls
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of financial accounting and management accounting principles
- Strong analytical skills, and ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports
- Good working knowledge of systems audit techniques
- IT literate with experience in using Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAAT)
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- A team player who is results focused and able to prioritise workload to meet team’s objectives and deadlines
- International experience in humanitarian or not for profit organization is an advantage
- The post holder will be require to frequently travel within Asia Pacific region and to Geneva
