The Exploration & Production business began in Asia Pacific over a century ago, back in the 1890s, when the first wells were drilled by Shell in Sumatra and Borneo. Recent discoveries in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam provide an aggressive expansion to our portfolio in the region.

Shell Exploration & Production Asia Pacific operates in seven countries - Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.

We currently have positions available in Miri and Johor, Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all required maintenance and preservation activities are performed for the project equipment from the time of the receiving inspection, through the project entire construction phase, to the final hand over to the commissioning and start up team;
  • To ensure that all equipment are maintained and preserved as required by the manufacturer’s specific instructions;
  • To ensure the equipment manufacturer warranty is not jeopardized by the exposure of the item to a hostile environment;
  • To ensure adherence to the Contractor Material and Equipment Storage and Preservation Procedure, and provide supervision and guidance to the contractor maintenance and preservation crew. Become knowledgeable of the project approved for construction drawings and specifications;
  • Become knowledgeable of the Industrial Codes, Standards, and Practices as referenced by the project specifications;
  • Become knowledgeable of the project HSES Plan, the Contractor’s Inspection & Testing Plan and Quality Procedures, edgeable of project equipment manufacturer’s maintenance and preservation instructions and requirements;
  • Verify daily maintenance and preservation activities performed by the contractor;
  • Review and comment on material and Equipment Maintenance and Preservation Instructions and Procedures;
  • Verify and monitor the establishment and adherence to project accepted material tracking, identification, preservation, and cleanliness procedures;
  • Review of Contractor’s Maintenance and Preservation Checksheets;
  • Assist the Contractor in generating and maintaining preservation and maintenance plans for all equipment and materials as required;
  • Support role ensuring that all personnel involved in the equipment maintenance and preservation activities fully comply with the project HSES requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma/Degree in Engineering with at least fifteen years experience in managing, inspection and supervision of offshore/marine mechanical maintenance and preservation systems;
  • Strong familiarity with Shell DEP 70.10.70.11 –Gen, Preservation of Old and New Equipment; DEP 61.10.08.11 _Gen, Field Inspection Prior to Commissioning; DEP70.10.01.10-Gen, Equipment Record Cards is preferred;
  • Strong familiarity with HSES processes and procedures;
  • Hands on experience on Equipment Maintenance, Preservation, Mechanical Completion, and Commissioning activities;
  • Strong familiarity with Industrial Codes and Specifications (ASME, AWS, API, NACE, ASTM);
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Management System and associated process and procedures;
  • Strong leadership, communication and documentation skills;
  • Motivated individual with proactive attitude;
  • Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
